Following the attack in Pahalgam, legendary Team India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has expressed his grief for the victims in Jammu and Kashmir.

Opening up about the incident, Tendulkar wrote on X, "Shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic attacks on innocent people in Pahalgam. The affected families must be going through an unimaginable ordeal - India and the world stand united with them at this dark hour, as we mourn the loss of lives and pray for justice".


As of now, the death count has increased to 28, according to the reports.

Incidentally, Sachin Tendulkar visited Kashmir with his family in 2024 and was seen enjoying tea with residents. Later, the former right-handed cricketer had also visited the ancient Martand Tirth Temple in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.

During his trip to the valley, the 51-year-old former cricketer also interacted with the soldiers deployed in Uri.

The incumbent secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Mr. Devajit Saikia, said, “The cricketing community is deeply shocked and anguished by the tragic loss of innocent lives in the gruesome terror attack at Pahalgam yesterday. On behalf of the BCCI, while condemning this ghastly and cowardly act with strongest possible words, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the berieved families and prayers for the departed souls.  In sharing their pain and grief,  we stand hand in hand at this hour of tragedy.

In other developments, showing solidarity with all those affected by the terror attack, the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) will see a few changes. 

They will be seen in the clash between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who are set to play each other on April 23, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. 

During the match, there will be no fireworks and cheerleaders. The cricketers will also wear armbands while playing the match.
