Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium received a bomb threat via email on Wednesday, according to a report by IANS. The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) promptly alerted Ahmedabad Police after receiving the threat, which was allegedly sent by an individual claiming to be based in Pakistan.

The message, containing a chilling one-line warning, 'We will blast your stadium', was sent under the name 'Pakistan JK'.

A senior police official confirmed to IANS that the threat is being taken seriously, particularly due to the upcoming high-profile Gujarat Titans vs Lucknow Super Giants fixture scheduled for May 14 at the same venue. Authorities cited the large expected turnout and potential risks to public safety as key concerns.

In immediate response, a bomb disposal unit along with a team of senior security officials conducted a comprehensive search of the stadium premises. Security protocols have been intensified not only in and around the Narendra Modi Stadium but also across other strategic locations throughout Gujarat.

Following the successful completion of 'Operation Sindoor', the state government has raised the security alert level in coordination with central intelligence agencies. Surveillance operations have been enhanced across major urban centres, including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, and Vadodara.

Increased deployment of police and paramilitary forces has been initiated in sensitive areas. Critical public spaces such as railway stations, airports, religious sites, and other sports venues are now subject to routine patrolling and rigorous security checks.

Additionally, intelligence units have been instructed to closely monitor online communications and social media platforms for any indication of suspicious activity. Coordination among local police, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and bomb detection squads has been reinforced, and rapid response teams remain on standby to address any emergency.

The government has directed district administrations to conduct mock drills to test emergency preparedness and operational readiness. Meanwhile, citizens have been urged to remain vigilant and to report any unusual or suspicious activity to the authorities.
