This development marks a dangerous escalation as both nations continue to strike each other’s military installations. According to PTI, Pakistan launched a high-speed missile at approximately 1.40 am, targeting an Indian air base in Punjab.
Qureshi revealed that Pakistan had also attacked medical facilities in Srinagar, Avantipura, and Udhampur. She added that a befitting and proportionate response had been carried out by Indian forces.
Pakistan used drones, jets, loitering munitions, and long-range weaponry in coordinated strikes along India’s western front. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said India had responded in a measured manner despite repeated provocations.
Misri asserted that it was Pakistan’s aggression that amounted to deliberate provocation and led to escalation. He categorically dismissed Pakistani claims that Indian missiles were aimed at religious sites, calling them absurd.
India also denied Pakistani assertions of damage to critical infrastructure, terming them completely false. The Indian military presented timestamped images to counter claims of destruction at Indian air force stations and bases.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh stated that Indian armed forces remain in a high state of operational readiness. Singh confirmed that India had targeted military assets in Rahim Yar Khan in a precision strike.
