The city of Mumbai is set to enjoy a day of clear skies today, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting a warm but pleasant atmosphere throughout the day. After experiencing overcast weather in recent weeks, the skies are expected to remain clear, bringing some relief to the city’s residents. However, the rising temperatures are likely to cause some discomfort, as the city prepares for a humid day.

According to the IMD, Mumbai will experience clear skies on Thursday, with temperatures hovering around a warm 29 degrees Celsius at 9 AM. The humidity is expected to be relatively high, sitting at 75%, and the winds will be light, moving at a speed of about 3 km/h. As the day progresses, temperatures are likely to rise, but there are no indications of a heatwave for today.

The forecasted maximum temperature for the day is 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be around 25 degrees Celsius, making it a typical late April day in Mumbai. Despite the warmth and humidity, Mumbaikars s can expect a breezy and mostly comfortable day, as long as they stay hydrated and take necessary precautions against the sun.

The IMD has also stated that clear skies are expected to persist throughout the week, offering a welcome change from the overcast weather that Mumbai experienced last week. The warm temperatures are set to continue as we move towards the end of April, so residents are advised to be prepared for the rising mercury levels.

For those planning to head out on April 26, the forecast suggests a similar day with clear skies and temperatures ranging between 24 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius. The weather will remain warm but should offer a respite from the previous week’s cloud cover.

Air quality in Mumbai

As per the latest report from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Mumbai’s air quality index (AQI) currently stands at 92, which falls under the ‘Satisfactory’ category. This means that the air quality is generally safe for most people, although individuals with respiratory conditions are advised to limit outdoor activities. Wearing a mask may also be a good idea, especially for those sensitive to pollution or air particles.
