CIDCO has taken up the work of the Kharghar-Turbhe Tunnel Link Road project to directly connect Turbhe in North Navi Mumbai to Kharghar Node in South Navi Mumbai. This four-lane tunnel route is proposed to be approximately 5.490 km long from the Sion-Panvel Highway opposite Juinagar Railway Station to the Central Park in Kharghar. This 5.490 km long route will include a 1.763 km long tunnel.
