The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Wednesday said its affiliate wing shut down the Mumbai office of a major online food delivery platform, citing complaints of poor service, withholding customer refunds, and misleading information about listed restaurants.
Akhil Chitre, head of the party’s communication wing, made the announcement in a post on X, alleging that customers who place orders through the platform are receiving substandard service.

“People place their trust in this app, but the services are disappointing,” Chitre stated. “We have given the company seven days to rectify the issues. If not, we will not allow their food delivery operations in Mumbai.”
Chitre alleged that when customers order items that are unavailable, full refunds are often not issued unless demanded. Even then, the refunds take four to seven working days to be processed.
“For now, their office has been shut. If they fail to improve, we will not allow their delivery agents to operate,” he warned.
Chitre also criticized the platform for not offering a Marathi language option in its customer service interface. “Even the chatbots are only in English, and there’s no option to speak to a representative,” he said.
He further alleged that several restaurants listed on the app are in poor condition or are merely roadside stalls, with no proper information provided to customers.
