The minister further said that the corporation, which is suffering a cumulative loss of about Rs 10,000 crore, is struggling financially every day to pay salaries to employees, purchase vehicles, fuel and tires, as well as renovate stations and other establishment expenses.
"The corporation needs money for employee dues, provident fund installments, and paying pending dues under labour contracts. Along with this, considering all the factors such as fuel and arrears of the institutions providing goods and services to the corporation, how much income does the ST Corporation currently get? How much does it spend? And how much is the outstanding debt? It is very important to prepare a white paper that accounts for all of this and it is necessary to create financial discipline from it," Sarnaik said.

Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Cashless Mediclaim Scheme
“On the lines of the Karnataka Transport Corporation, a "Cashless Mediclaim" scheme should be started in the name of Dharmaveer Anand Dighe, where all the employees will get medical services and tests done under one roof,” Sarnaik said
‘New policy regarding hotels and motels soon’
“Many complaints are being made regarding the service facilities provided to passengers at the hotels and motels where ST buses stop during long-distance journeys. A strict policy will be adopted from now on while granting permission to these hotels and motels. Based on the complaints of passengers, there will be a provision to cancel their stay along with penal action against the hotel concerned. Also, there will be a provision in this new policy to hold the department controllers of the department where complaints are received regarding such hotels and motels responsible and take punitive action against them,” the minister informed.
Five experts to be appointed soon to increase efficiency
“In order to increase the efficiency of the ST administration, advice from experts in different fields is very important and such experts should be appointed to guide the officers and administration of ST Corporation,” Sarnaik said at the meeting. Accordingly, five experts – one each for construction, transport, labour, finance and information technology sectors – will be appointed by the corporation soon.
