Mumbai News LIVE Updates: Maharashtra: EVs exempted from toll, motor tax in push for green mobility
The Maharashtra government has announced a complete toll waiver for all four-wheeler electric passenger vehicles and buses on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Atal Setu, and Samruddhi Mahamarg. Besides complete toll exemption, a 50 per cent toll concession will be given on other state and national highways under the jurisdiction of the state Public Works Department (PWD). An 18-year-old girl allegedly died after she fell from a two-wheeler and was run over by a truck near CP Tank Circle on Monday. The scooter was being ridden by her friend, who did not possess a valid driving licence. The deceased, identified as Siya Uttam Mehta, was riding pillion on a Suzuki Access scooter driven by her friend, Dinika Vicky Bafna, also 18 years of age. Both were residents of South Mumbai.
