HSC exams 2025 results: Mumbai division ranks third in Maharashtra with 92.93 pass percentage

The Mumbai divisional board has secured a pass percentage of 92.93 per cent in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) 2025 exams, which is higher than the state’s pass percentage of 91.88 per cent.

The Maharashtra HSC results 2025 were declared on Monday.  


According to data released by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, 3,14,144 students from the Mumbai division appeared for the exams, of which 2,91,955 cleared them. Mumbai has recorded the third-highest pass percentage in Maharashtra HSC results 2025.


The Konkan division registered the highest pass percentage at 96.74 per cent, followed by Kolhapur at 93.64 per cent.

Overall, 14,27,905 students registered across the nine divisional boards in Maharashtra. Of these, 14,19,969 appeared for the exams and 13,29,684 managed to clear them.

This year, the HSC pass percentage stands at 91.88 per cent, marking a slight decrease compared to last year’s 93.37 per cent. The drop in pass percentage is 1.49 per cent, reflecting the challenges faced by students amid a more demanding exam pattern and other external factors. Girls outperformed boys once again, securing a pass rate of 94.58 per cent compared to 89.51 per cent for boys. 

Stream-wise performance

Here’s a breakdown of the pass percentages across various streams in the Maharashtra HSC 2025 results:

Science: 97.35 per cent

Commerce: 92.68 per cent

Arts: 80.52 per cent

Vocational: 83.26 per cent

Performance of private candidates

Private candidates also performed reasonably well this year, with an overall pass percentage of 83.73 per cent. Out of 36,133 private candidates who registered, 35,697 appeared for the exams, and 29,892 successfully passed.

Region-wise pass percentage

Here are the region-wise pass percentages for the Maharashtra HSC results 2025:

Pune: 91.32 per cent

Nagpur: 90.52 per cent

Sambhajinagar: 92.24 per cent

Mumbai: 92.93 per cent

Kolhapur: 93.64 per cent

Amravati: 91.43 per cent

Nashik: 91.31 per cent

Latur: 89.46 per cent

Konkan: 96.74 per cent (Top performer)

Students can download their scorecard on mahresult.nic.in. They will need to visit this site, click on the “HSC Examination Result 2025” link, and enter their roll number and mother’s first name to access their results.
