Amid this packed performance schedule, Verknipt from Netherlands is set to debut in India with its signature EDM music in Mumbai at Dome SVP Stadium, and Bengaluru on May 2 and May 3, followed by Hyderabad on May 4, produced by Spacebound.

Amid the buzz about global EDM music icons coming to India, here’s all you need to know about them and their performances:

From a small Dutch gig to global domination
Verknipt’s story began in 2012 in the Netherlands, fuelled by the idea to create unique techno events the country had ever seen. What started as an underground set quickly snowballed into a movement that took over the national electronic scene. By 2022, Verknipt had become the heartbeat of the Netherlands’ hard techno explosion and today, it commands a global community of over 3,00,000 techno lovers annually. After a decade of ruling European dancefloors, they’re now set to come to India for the very first time.

Debut in India
After setting dance floors on fire in Amsterdam, Spain, Portugal, France, Hungary, Thailand, Brazil, Chile and Colombia, they have now setting their sights on Asia and India is their debut with performances in three cities.

Hard techno music

If there’s one thing that defines the Dutch outfit, it’s their unapologetic devotion to hard techno, industrial techno and hard dance. Known for pushing the tempo past the usual comfort zone, their events are known to be a barrage of pounding beats, distorted basslines and fierce energy. In India, expect a no-holds-barred introduction to the sound that has found fans around the world.

Artists
Over the years, Verknipt has built a reputation for assembling some of the most ferocious names in the techno world. Legends like Charlotte de Witte, Dax J, Amelie Lens, AnD, DION and Dyen have all played on the stages with blistering sets.

For their Indian debut, the lineup has a mix of veterans and rising stars including 6EJOU, Fatima Hajji, Stan Christ, Shlomo, Ana Lilia and Kollision.

Light shows and laser storms
Verknipt is not just about the sound, it's a complete audiovisual spectacle. Their events are famous for mind-bending light shows, laser storms, jaw-dropping visuals and meticulously chaotic production design. Every detail from the stage setups to the in-your-face visual storytelling is crafted to create a world where reality dissolves and the music takes over.
