After winning the toss, SRH captain Pat Cummins opted to field first, hoping to make early inroads
GT openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan launched a blistering assault from the outset. Both batters wasted no time and took the attack to the SRH bowlers in the powerplay. They reached the 50-run milestone inside four overs, with Gill flicking a short delivery from Cummins over the boundary for a six
The first breakthrough came in the seventh over, when leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari removed Sudharsan, who had played a scintillating knock of 48 off just 23 balls, including nine boundaries. Despite the loss, the momentum didn’t slow down as wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler walked in and immediately joined the scoring spree.
Gill continued to anchor the innings with finesse, reaching his half-century in no time. His knock, however, ended in unfortunate fashion in the 13th over when he was run out for a fiery 76 off 38 balls, including classy drives and well-timed strokes.
Among SRH bowlers, Jaydev Unadkat emerged as the most successful, taking 3 for 35 in his four overs. Pat Cummins and Zeeshan Ansari picked up a wicket each, but the Titans' batting firepower proved too much to contain on a flat Ahmedabad pitch.
