The Pahalgam terror attack has left the entire nation shaken, and with many grieving the loss of their loved ones, Elvish Yadav has shared his deeply personal link to the horrific incident that claimed 26 lives. Among the 26 was Vijay Narwal, an Indian Navy Lieutenant and husband of Elvish Yadav's college mate Himanshi. In a recent vlog, deeply saddened by the incident, Elvish shared that he couldn't call Himanshi because he didn’t know what to say.

While talking about how he didn't recognise Himanshi at first, he said it was only the second time he watched the video that Elvish realised it was his college friend. The popular YouTuber shared, “It was only after watching it a second time that I realised—this is Himanshi. We studied together at Hansraj. I graduated in 2018 and we hadn’t been in touch since, but I remember us going to the metro station together… She was a part of those carefree college days,” he recalled.

The Laughter Chefs' star further continued, “I didn’t call her. What could I say? What do you say to someone who has just watched her husband be taken from her like that?”

He further stated that he spoke to a mutual friend who tried contacting Himanshi after the Pahalgam terror attack and said, “She didn’t answer the first 30 calls but finally picked up the 31st time. She told our friend that what is being said is true—that the terrorists asked about religion before opening fire.”

Lieutenant Vinay Narwal and Himanshi had tied the knot just weeks ago, on April 16. They went to Pahalgam for their honeymoon. The family of the victim shared that while the couple had planned a Switzerland trip, due to visa delays, they chose Kashmir instead.

About the Pahalgam terror attack

A terror attack broke out at the Pahalgam hill station in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday. Over 20 tourists, including Indians and two foreigners, were shot dead by terrorists in the valley.

According to reports, two to three terrorists wearing army fatigues opened fire on horse-riding tourists in the Baisaran area around 2:30 p.m. Baisaran is a small meadow located 3 to 4 km from the Pahalgam market, and tourists typically ride horses to reach the spot as there is no motorable road.
