Comedian Bharti Singh faced backlash for enjoying a vacation in Thailand while India goes through serious cross-border tension with Pakistan, and her family remains at risk as they reside in Amritsar. Now, Singh has reacted to all the accusations and revealed that she is in Bangkok, not for a vacation, but due to prior work commitments.

While acknowledging the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions and Punjab being at the hotspot, Bharti expressed her trust in India's strength and the government, saying, "India is a very strong country aur isse koi hila nahi sakta. You people are very innocent. When I read your comments I don’t get angry. I just feel aap log bahot bhole ho."

Further in her vlog, while she assured her fans that her family is safe, she also made it clear that she isn’t holidaying or enjoying during these tough times, stating, "I want to clarify to everyone I’m here for work and not for any holiday. We had a shoot for 10 days and we had committed to this project 3-4 months ago. A lot of preparation has gone into it and it is not professional to ditch someone at the last moment. Maine humesha ek baat Punjabiyon se sikhi hai—ek baar keh do toh phir keh do, mana nahi karna."

Further in the vlog, Bharti can be seen breaking down in tears. She shared that she frequently calls her family, spoke to her brother about the situation, and reaffirmed that "kisiko kuch nahi hoga."

India confirms ceasefire

Informing about the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said in a press briefing, "The DGMO of Pakistan called the DGMO of India at 15:35 hours earlier this afternoon. It was agreed between them that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land, air, and sea with effect from 17:00 hours IST."

About the India-Pakistan conflict

On May 8, Pakistan launched a series of aerial strikes targeting over a dozen locations, including the Jammu civil airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, and multiple military installations in the region. These strikes followed India’s precision strikes on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, as part of Operation Sindoor, which was a response to the devastating Pahalgam terror attacks. Despite the escalation in hostilities, India’s S-400 air defense system effectively intercepted and neutralized the incoming threats.
