The tension between Pakistan and India has been rising, and last night wasn't easy for any citizens. But for those living in the sensitive zones, it was a sleepless, horrifying night with loud noises of blasts echoing through the sky. Stand-up comedian Samay Raina, a Kashmiri Pandit, has his family living in Jammu, where the country witnessed a complete blackout, with Pakistan constantly trying to launch attacks. In this, Samay Raina shared a story about his belief in the Indian Armed Forces.

Samay Raina’s call with his Father

The stand-up comedian took to his social media to share that he had a call with his father and said, "My father calls me one last time tonight from Jammu to say goodnight. His voice, steady and calm, urges me to sleep and not worry, the Indian armed forces have everything under control. His calmness quiets my restless thoughts. I switch off the lights in my Mumbai home and walk to the window to draw the curtains. Outside my window, my neighbour's lights still glow. I know little about him; that's just how it is here."

He further continued and said, "I wonder if he, too, has family in Jammu, perhaps in Pathankot—or if he might be the son of a brave soldier, who won't sleep tonight, waiting for a morning call from his father on the front lines."

"My utmost respect to the armed forces and their families for all the sacrifices they make for our safety: Goodnight. Jai Hind," Raina concluded.

India-Pakistan attacks

Pakistan attacked India with multiple drones and missiles targeted at the country's bordering states, leading to a complete blackout in several states, along with airport services being suspended. Pakistan's attack came after India carried out Operation Sindoor, where they destroyed several terrorist bases in Pakistan and PoK. After Pakistan's attack on the country, the Indian armed forces retaliated with full force, including INS Vikrant coming into action.

About Operation Sindoor

The Operation Sindoor was approved following a high-level security meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 29. It targeted major strongholds of banned terror outfits. According to PTI, these included Jaish-e-Mohammad’s base in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s headquarters in Muridke, near Lahore. Additional strikes were conducted in PoK, including areas like Kotli and Muzaffarabad, known for housing terror camps and training facilities.

In a statement issued at 1:44 a.m. IST, the Indian Ministry of Defence confirmed, “A little while ago, the Indian armed forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor,’ hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed.”
