The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday announced the results for the Std X and XII board examinations. This year, there has been an overall increase of nearly three per cent in the pass percentage for both classes compared to last year.
In Std XII, the Pune region (which covers CBSE schools in Maharashtra, Goa, Daman and Diu) recorded a pass percentage of 90.93 per cent, marking a 2.65 per cent rise from last year's 87.98 per cent. For Std X, the pass percentage stands at 96.54 per cent, up by 2.94 per cent from 93.60 per cent in 2024.
As part of ongoing reforms, CBSE officials confirmed that the board has discontinued the practice of awarding first, second, and third divisions based on exam scores. Additionally, in line with previous years, no merit list has been released.
"No merit list will be declared by CBSE to avoid unhealthy competition among students," said Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, controller of examinations, CBSE.
