The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) on Thursday announced a hike in fare prices on its buses from Friday, May 9, the officials said.
The increase in fares will be on both non-air-conditioned (non-AC) and air-conditioned (AC) BEST buses, they said.
According to officials, the minimum ticket fare for non-AC buses will rise from Rs 5 to Rs 10, while the maximum fare will increase from Rs 20 to Rs 60.
For AC buses, the minimum fare will go up from Rs 6 to Rs 12, and the maximum fare will rise from Rs 25 to Rs 65, they said.

The BEST ticket price hike marks the first major fare revision since 2019, when the last changes were implemented. At that time, non-AC fares ranged between Rs 5 and Rs 20, while AC fares were set between Rs 6 and Rs 25.
BEST bus ridership is currently around 31 lakh passengers daily in its fleet of 2,186 buses.
The hike comes alongside a restructuring of ticket stages, which is expected to impact how fares are calculated over various distances.
