The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend the remainder of the ongoing TATA IPL 2025 with immediate effect for one week.

Further updates regarding the new schedule and venues of the tournament will be announced in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders, informed Devajit Saikia in a media release.

Earlier, on Thursday, the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dharamshala was suspended midway, following the air raid alerts near Jammu and Kashmir.

"At this critical juncture, the BCCI stands firmly with the nation. We express our solidarity with the Government of India, the Armed Forces and the people of our country. The Board salutes the bravery, courage, and selfless service of our armed forces, whose heroic efforts under Operation Sindoor continue to protect and inspire the nation, as they lead a resolute response to the recent terrorist attack and the unwarranted aggression by Pakistan’s armed forces," Saikia said, confirming the suspension of the high-profile league, which was to wind up on May 25 in Kolkata.

Previously, on Thursday, amid the air raid alarms and following the reports of explosion sounds in Jammu, several districts in India were put under a blackout. The districts, namely, include Pathankot, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Mohali.

On the other hand, after the Indian missiles were launched in Lahore, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) moved the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to the UAE.

On May 9, the IPL 2025 was set to enter the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium B Ground. Currently, the match between RCB and LSG stands suspended.

Twelve league matches and four knockout games, including the final in Kolkata, were left to be played at the time of suspension.
