In the IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Rajasthan Royals' (RR) debutant, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, played a knock of 34 runs off just 20 deliveries.

His knock ended with two boundaries and three maximums.

Speaking about his knock, RR bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule hailed the 14-year-old by saying he is brave.

"I just feel he's a great kid with a really good head on his shoulders. I think he's got a game which is almost 360 degrees. He's brave. The approach at that age is also very dominating and he wants to play shorts. He doesn't really feel that he is playing against some particular bowler. His theory is to watch the ball and hit the ball," Bahutule said in the post-match press meet.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi came into the limelight during the league's auction. Rajasthan brought the services of the 14-year-old for Rs. 1.10 crore. With this, he became the youngest-ever to feature in IPL's history.

Rajasthan, led by stand-in captain Riyan Parag, suffered a loss by just two runs in the IPL 2025 match against LSG at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Following the loss, the Royals are currently placed in the eighth position on the IPL 2025 points table. Bahutule said that despite losing two close matches, there is a lot of calmness in the dugout.

"We've been playing good cricket. It's just that the result has not gone our way. In the dugout, there's a lot of calmness with Rahul (Dravid) being there. Everybody has played enough cricket in that dugout to know that one should not panic," said Bahutule.

"But unfortunately, losing by two runs this game and the previous game with the Super Over, it's been hard on us, but that's the way the game goes. T20 is a format where a lot of risk is involved," he added.

RR skipper Sanju Samson missed out on the IPL 2025 match against Lucknow due to an injury. Speaking about his injury, "Obviously, we missed Sanju. I think they will assess his situation and will let us know," said the 52-year-old veteran.

Rajasthan  Royals will play their next IPL 2025 fixture against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 24 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
