Legendary England pacer James Anderson feels that India's next generation of batsmen have the aggression and fearlessness to fill the big shoes of stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
"There will be a new captain because Sharma has retired, There's big shoes to fill there but they've got a huge amount of talent in their squad," Anderson said 'talkSPORT'.
Further hailing Kohli, the former pacer said, "Great players. Kohli, one of the greatest Test batters that's ever been".
Virat Kohli concluded his Test career by scoring 9,230 runs in 123 matches. With 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries, Kohli goes down as one of the greatest players to have played the game. England will lock horns against Australia for the Ashes series after concluding the five-match series against India.
Ahead of England's busy calendar, the 42-year-old former pacer said that it is important to gain momentum before the Ashes.
"It's a huge year (for England) with the Ashes coming but it is important to get some momentum going. "India is going to be such a tough challenge even at home. They are a strong side," said Anderson. The series will also mark the beginning of the new 2025-2027 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
