Akram's plea: Pray for Huma!

"Please pray to God for her recovery." That's Pakistan's pace ace Wasim Akram's plea to his countless admirers.
Speaking to this writer over the phone from Chennai, Akram added: "She is in the CCU (Care and the Coronary Care Unit) and the doctors are taking very good care of her."

Huma is believed to be suffering from brain tumour and needs surgery. Kidney complications have developed too. Akram's friends in Pakistan are devastated.

"We are very concerned about Huma's health problems. My Swedish wife (Majbritt) joins me in wishing her an early recovery," said Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) psychologist Maqbool "Max" Babri from Lahore. Max is a close family friend of the Akrams.

"Besides being a psychologist and hypnotherapist, Huma is a wonderful, well-grounded lady. It is Huma who brings stability to Wasim's life. I know many of her clients and she is doing an excellent job as a counsellor," Max added.
