At least 12 people including children were killed overnight in Gaza by Israeli strikes, hospital workers said on Wednesday. The pre-dawn strikes hit three houses in the urban Nuseirat refugee camp. Among the dead were three children, including two brothers whose bodies arrived at the Al-Aqsa Hospital in pieces.

The strikes come after more than two dozen people were killed earlier this week in Gaza City and Beit Lahiya. Israel ended its ceasefire with Hamas last month. It has cut off the territory’s 2 million Palestinians from all imports, including food and medicine, since the beginning of March in what it says is an attempt to pressure the militant group to release hostages.

UK-US joint airstrikes target Houthi in Yemen

The UK’s Royal Air Force participated in a joint operation with US forces against a Houthi military target in Yemen. “Careful intelligence analysis identified a cluster of buildings, used by the Houthis to manufacture drones of the type used to attack ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, located some 15 miles south of Sanaa,” a statement said. The Houthis began attacking ships in the Red Sea in November 2023.

Iran executes man convicted of spying for Israel

Iran executed on Wednesday a man it said worked for Israel’s foreign intelligence agency and played a role in the killing of an Iranian colonel. The man, identified as Mohsen Langarneshin, was hanged. Officials referred him as a “senior spy” for the Mossad, who provided “technical support” in the 2022 assassination of Col. Hassan Sayyad Khodaei, shot five times by gunmen on a motorbike in Tehran. They said the Mossad recruited Langarneshin in 2020 and that he met with Israeli agents in Georgia and Nepal.
