According to the TMC, the Jambhul Water Purification Centre of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) released 1,800 metres of impure water. A 1-metre diameter water pipeline has suffered damage and is currently under maintenance. The repair work is expected to take 12 to 15 hours, during which residents of the Mumbra and Kalwa divisions will face a complete water supply shutdown.
Authorities have confirmed that repair work on the pipeline is already in progress. The MIDC has informed that it will take approximately 12 to 15 hours to complete the necessary repairs. During this time, the water supply in Diva, Mumbra, and Kalwa—areas under the jurisdiction of the Thane Municipal Corporation—will be temporarily suspended.
TMC officials assured that once the repairs are completed, the water supply will resume as normal. The civic body has requested citizens to take note of the situation and cooperate with the authorities while the repair work is underway.
