A major tragedy was narrowly avoided in the early hours of Tuesday when the top two floors of a ground-plus-two structure collapsed in Malwani’s Old Collector Compound in Malad, Mumbai.
The incident occurred between 3 and 4 a.m. at Plot No. 2, Gate No. 5, according to police sources.
Fortunately, the upper floors were unoccupied at the time of the collapse, preventing any serious casualties. However, two individuals on the lower floors sustained minor injuries.
Teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade and local police arrived at the scene promptly to clear debris and secure the area. Rescue operations were carried out swiftly, ensuring the safety of nearby residents.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the structural failure.
