Western Railway, while sharing Mumbai local train updates, on Friday said that it will operate a jumbo block at night this weekend between Mahim and Santacruz station.
An official statement said that a jumbo block of 3.5 hours will be taken from 01.00 hrs to 04.30 hrs during the intervening night of Saturday/Sunday, 10th/11th May, 2025.
It said that the block will be operated on up and down slow lines between Mahim Junction and Santacruz railway stations for maintenance of track, signaling and overhead equipment.
According to a press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, during the block all down slow line trains will run on down fast lines between Mumbai Central and Santacruz stations. These trains will not halt at Mahalaxmi, Prabhadevi and Matunga Road stations for want of platform and will take double halt at Lower Parel, Mahim and Khar Road stations due to inadequate platform length. Likewise, up slow line trains will run on up fast line between Santacruz to Mumbai Central/Churchgate. Hence, these trains will take double halt at Khar Road station due to inadequate length of platform and will not halt halt at Mahim, Matunga Road, Prabhadevi, Lower Parel and Mahalaxmi stations for want of platform. Due to the block some up and down suburban trains will remain cancelled.
Passengers are requested to take note of the above arrangements, it said.
"There will be no block in day over Western Railway suburban section on Sunday, May 11, 2025," the Western Railway said.
