A Level-II fire broke out early Saturday morning at Bonanza Industrial Estate on Ashok Chakravarti Road in Kandivali (West), Mumbai.
The incident, which occurred on May 10, 2025, was first reported at 7:00 a.m. by the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), according to updates provided by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
As per the MFB, the fire was confined to a gala located on the first floor of the G+2 floored industrial estate building. The area was engulfed in dense smoke, prompting immediate firefighting measures. Three small hose lines and one high-pressure line were deployed to contain the blaze.
The MFB declared it a Level-I fire at 7:06 a.m. and escalated it to Level-II at 7:33 a.m. Firefighters worked swiftly to bring the situation under control, and by 12:47 p.m., the fire was reported to be surrounded and covered from all sides.
Multiple civic and emergency response agencies were mobilised to assist in the operation. These included the Mumbai Fire Brigade, BMC ward staff, the local police, Adani Electricity, 108 Ambulance services, and the Public Works Department (PWD) of the Government of Maharashtra. Equipment and units dispatched to the site included six fire engines (FE), two fire tenders (FT), six jumbo tankers (JT), two additional water tankers (AWTT), a breathing apparatus van (BA van), one quick response vehicle (WQRV), a general quick response vehicle (QRV), and a 108 Ambulance.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported as a result of the incident. The cause of the fire has not been disclosed at the time of reporting.
Mumbai: Fire breaks out at Apollo Industrial Estate in Andheri, no injuries reported
Earlier this month, a fire broke out at an industrial estate in Andheri on Thursday, said civic officials.
According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the fire broke out at Gala No. 44 in the Apollo Industrial Estate, located near Holy Family School in Andheri (East), Mumbai, on the morning of May 8, 2025. The blaze, which began at around 5:56 am, quickly spread to the electric wiring, office files, furniture, and medical supplies stored on both the first and ground floors of the industrial unit.
The fire was reportedly confined to the electrical installations and various office equipment, including computers, printers, a Xerox machine, and a large stock of medical items such as diapers, wheelchairs, and surgical equipment.
By 08:50 am, the fire was fully extinguished, and no injuries were reported. The authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire, while assessing the damage to the building and the loss of valuable equipment and supplies.
