Markets surge in early trade on persistent foreign fund inflows
Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty surged in early trade on Tuesday amid persistent foreign fund inflows and easing tariff concerns. The 30-share BSE benchmark gauge jumped 442.94 points to 80,661.31 in early trade. The NSE Nifty rallied 129.15 points to 24,457.65.
Deccan Queen gets a diesel downgrade!
The Deccan Queen, India’s first electric express train, has been in a rare gesture, running with diesel locomotives since April 18. Not that it has affected journey timelines, but commuters, old timers and railfans have seen this as a fall of prestige for the iconic train and that too in the year Indian Railways is celebrating the centenary of its electrification. Mumbai: After intense protests, state govt to provide homes nearby; Elphinstone bridge stays open for now
All residents of 19 buildings in the Elphinstone bridge area will be provided new houses at the same location, with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), acting as the Special Planning Authority (SPA), redeveloping them under a cluster development plan. Delhi Capitals (DC) went down by six wickets against visiting Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their ninth match of IPL 2025 here on Sunday.
