The increasing success rate of girls in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination is a reflection of a positive change in the society, said Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, in his congratulatory message to the students who cleared the Class 10 boards.
He added that through education, girls are becoming self-reliant, and this achievement is a testament to their hard work and the support of their families.
The Maharashtra SSC results 2025 were announced on Monday at 1 pm. A total of 16,10,908 students had registered for the exam across Maharashtra’s nine divisional boards. Of these, 15,98,553 students appeared for the exams that took place from February 21 to March 17. The state recorded an overall pass percentage of 93.04 per cent after 14,87,399 students cleared the exam. This marks a decline of 1.71 per cent from last year’s results, when the state had recorded 94.75 per cent.

In his message, Shinde said that the SSC exam is a crucial milestone in a student's academic journey. “Success at this stage is not merely a matter of exam performance but a result of students’ dedication, parental support, and the guidance of teachers,” he said.
The Deputy CM also had a message for those students who did not achieve the expected results. “There is no reason to be disheartened. An exam is not the final test of life. Failure is simply a stepping stone towards success. Reflect on your performance, identify your mistakes, and move forward with renewed enthusiasm. Success always awaits preparation. Believe in yourself and try again,” said Shinde.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse also congratulated the students who cleared the SSC examination.
“The SSC exam is an important stage that helps in determining a student’s educational direction. Those who achieve success at this level deserve recognition, said Bhuse, wishing the students continued success in the future.
He also urged the students who did not pass the exam not to lose hope but to appear for the supplementary test and strive for success.
Impressive pass percentage among differently-abled students
A total of 9,673 differently-abled students registered from the nine divisional boards. Of these, 9,585 appeared for the exam, and 8,844 passed — marking an impressive pass percentage of 92.27 per cent, informed Bhuse.
7,924 schools achieve 100 per cent success
Out of 23,489 schools, 7,924 achieved a 100 per cent pass result. While 4,88,745 passed with distinction in first class, 4,97,277 cleared the exam with first class.
