The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has officially declared the results for the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations today, May 5, 2025. Over 14 lakh students who appeared for the Class 12 exams across Maharashtra are now able to check their results, which will be important for their future in higher education.
This year, the HSC pass percentage stands at 91.88 per cent, marking a slight decrease compared to last year’s 93.37 per cent. The drop in pass percentage is 1.49 per cent, reflecting the challenges faced by students amid a more demanding exam pattern and other external factors. Girls outperformed boys once again, securing a pass rate of 94.58 per cent compared to 89.51 per cent for boys.
Stream-wise performance
Here’s a breakdown of the pass percentages across various streams in the Maharashtra HSC 2025 results:
Science: 97.35 per cent
Commerce: 92.68 per cent
Arts: 80.52 per cent
Vocational: 83.26 per cent
Performance of private candidates
Private candidates also performed reasonably well this year, with an overall pass percentage of 83.73 per cent. Out of 36,133 private candidates who registered, 35,697 appeared for the exams, and 29,892 successfully passed.

As per the official announcement, students can access their results starting at 1 PM today. The MSBSHSE has confirmed that the direct link to download the scorecard will be available on the official website, mahresult.nic.in. Students will need to visit this site, click on the “HSC Examination Result 2025” link, and enter their roll number and mother’s first name to access their results.
Additionally, students can also choose to receive their results via SMS by sending their roll number to the designated mobile number provided by the board. Physical copies of the marksheets will be distributed later by the respective schools, as per the usual procedure.
