In a display of resilience, determination, and excellence, two students from the Training and Educational Centre for Hearing Impaired (TEACH)— Adnan Siddiqui and Bhagyashri Dait—successfully passed their HSC exams with first-class marks, each etching an inspiring chapter of triumph against the odds. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared the Std XII Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination results on May 5.
The unlikely topper
Topping his batch with an impressive 69 per cent, Siddiqui has emerged as the surprise star of this year’s HSC cohort. Once considered an average student, his outstanding final result is a powerful testament to perseverance and inner strength.
The only hearing-impaired member of his family, Siddiqui hails from a humble background; his father runs a small rag-picking business, and the family has worked tirelessly to support his education. Their collective sacrifice and unwavering belief in Siddiqui’s potential have paid off, as his achievement now stands as a proud milestone for both him and his family.

Dait, who secured a commendable 64 per cent, has been honored with ‘student of the academic year,’ an award that recognises not only her academic performance but also her leadership, spirit, and overall excellence. As the eldest daughter in a middle-class family and the only hearing-impaired member of her household, Dait has faced her share of challenges. Yet, she remains a pillar of strength and support for her family.
Her accomplishments go far beyond textbooks; she is an active sports participant and served as the cultural committee leader in the student council. Her exceptional organisational skills, positive attitude, and ability to uplift others make her a role model within and beyond the school community.
Together, Siddiqui and Dait represent the true spirit of TEACH—perseverance, excellence, and the power of education to transform lives.
