A 23-year-old man tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run incident in Mumbai’s Borivali area on May 4. 

According to ANI, the victim, identified as Akshat Singh, was on his way home to Mira Road when he was fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle. The incident occurred on May 4, while Singh was riding from the Western Express Highway.


The vehicle allegedly rammed into Singh and fled the scene without stopping to help or report the incident, as required by law. Police confirmed that the driver neither offered assistance nor informed the authorities.


Kasturba Marg Police have registered a case against an unknown individual. The charges include Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), pertaining to culpable homicide not amounting to murder, and Section 281, which relates to rash and negligent driving. Additionally, Sections 134(A) and 134(B) of the Motor Vehicles Act have been invoked for failing to stop, report, and provide aid after an accident, reported ANI.

Six killed in road accident in UP’s Shahjahanpur; CM Yogi Adityanath expresses condolences

In another incident, at least six people lost their lives in a devastating road accident late Monday night in Shahjahanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. According to ANI, the accident occurred in the Madanpur police station area when a car and a bike collided head-on.

Superintendent of Police, Shahjahanpur Rajesh Dwivedi said, "A tragic accident took place late at night in the Madanpur police station area of Shahjahanpur in which a car and a bike collided violently. The collision was so severe that 6 people died tragically. The injured in the accident have been admitted to the medical college, where they are undergoing treatment. The police reached the spot and started investigating the case, and sent the body for a postmortem," reported ANI.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident, extended his condolences to the families of the deceased, and instructed district officials to expedite relief efforts. He also directed authorities to ensure proper medical care for the injured and wished them a speedy recovery.
