How's the Punjabi rapsinging scenario now, you ask and pat comes the reply, "Good. Actually very good! Punjabi songs are ruling the Bollywood roost since a long time Most of the major movies have a hit Punjabi song."
Dil has been in the singing landscape since quite some time. How has been the journey so far?
"The journey has been no purple and fine linen. But it's all about your hardwork sincerity of purpose with planning and lots of sacrifices. And whatever I'm today it's because I followed this regimen," said Dil on a positive note.
Many of the current singers seem to be relying more on publicity stunts than showcasing and fostering their own talent. True?
"Could be true in some cases. But singers like Arijit Singh made iconic names through their mellifluous voices," Dil said plainly.
Doesn't Dil think the emergence and popularity of digital media is helping the singers to boost their works. And doesn't it help the newcomer singers to launch themselves on independent media without the help of big music houses?
To this, Dil said, "There's no denying the fact that the the flooding of digital media gave platforms to many newcomer singers, but big music houses have the advantage of money and huge marketing power!"
