Team India's opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has requested the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to allow him to rejoin the domestic squad. The request comes after the left-hander had previously asked MCA for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to switch to play for Goa.

In April, the 23-year-old had written a letter to MCA seeking permission to switch his domestic team to Goa. The cricket board, on its part, had approved Jaiswal's request.

PTI has Jaiswal's email to the MCA in which he said he is available to represent Mumbai in the next domestic season.

"I the undersigned would request your goodself to consider my request in withdrawing my NOC given to me as I had some family plans in shifting to Goa which for now has been curtailed!" Jaiswal wrote.

"So I sincerely request MCA to allow me to play for Mumbai this season! I have not submitted the NOC to BCCI nor to the Goa Cricket Association!" he added.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who moved to Mumbai from Uttar Pradesh to pursue his cricketing career, has established himself as a regular player for the Indian cricket team. Earlier, there were also speculations about Jaiswal planning to move to Goa owing to a promise of leading the side in the domestic circuit in the sunshine state.

With a packed international calendar, the 23-year-old Jaiswal would most likely also not get a lot of time to spend with the team in Goa, but becoming their skipper would have given him some experience in major leadership roles.

The secretary of the Goa Cricket Association, Shamba Desai, had earlier confirmed to PTI that Jaiswal would be their captain with the Goa team being promoted from Plate division to Elite ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Currently, Jaiswal is busy featuring in the team for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2025, and has scored 473 runs. Amid the rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the ongoing edition of the cash-rich league has been suspended indefinitely.

On May 9, the IPL 2025 was set to enter the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Eden Gardens. The match stands suspended until further notice.
