At 62 for 2, the match seemed to be firmly in their control. However, Punjab's Yuzvendra Chahal triggered a spectacular collapse with a four-wicket burst that dismantled KKR’s middle order. Marco Jansen and Arshdeep Singh then cleaned up the tail, as the Knight Riders were bowled out for just 95 in 15.1 overs.

Tuesday's defeat not only marked one of KKR’s most embarrassing collapses, but also cemented PBKS’s total of 111 as the lowest ever successfully defended in IPL history

This wasn’t the first time KKR’s batting lineup faltered under pressure. Their all-time lowest total came back in May 2008, when they were bowled out for a mere 67 runs against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. It was a crushing defeat in just 15.2 overs while batting first, and remains their worst batting performance in the tournament

Additionally, back in April 2009, KKR managed just 101 runs in 19.4 overs against the Deccan Chargers in Cape Town, another day when their top and middle order offered little resistance

Another dismal outing came in October 2020, when KKR posted 84 for 8 in their full 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Abu Dhabi. Despite batting through the innings, their inability to rotate strike and find boundaries saw them slump to a heavy defeat

KKR have also been dismissed for 95 on two separate occasions. The first was against Mumbai Indians in April 2009 at Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth), where the chase fell apart within 15.2 overs. The most recent, of course, was the 2025 collapse against Punjab
