Curran's scintillating innings included 9 fours and 4 sixes, providing the much-needed acceleration for CSK after a slow start. Alongside Curran, Dewald Brevis contributed a solid 32 runs off 26 balls, with 2 fours and 1 six, helping the hosts reach a respectable total.

With a total of 190, CSK's innings ended with a flurry of wickets, but it was Curran’s resilience at the top that ensured they reached a challenging target.

Despite a spirited fight from CSK, it was Punjab Kings’s Yuzvendra Chahal who stole the spotlight with a remarkable hat-trick. Chahal was the standout bowler for PBKS, finishing with impressive figures of 4/32. His brilliant spell was crucial in slowing down the CSK innings and eventually leading to their collapse

Along with Chahal, Marco Jansen also played a vital role in the middle overs, picking up 2 wickets for 30 runs, further tightening the grip on CSK's batting line-up.

CSK had a steady start, but the fall of regular wickets kept the pressure mounting, especially as Chahal's hat-trick turned the tide in PBKS's favour. While Curran’s explosive knock kept CSK's hopes alive, the team struggled to find a significant partnership. Following Brevis's departure, CSK's middle and lower order could not build any momentum, eventually losing their final wickets with 4 balls to spare.
