The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officially unveiled a stellar line-up of icon players for the eagerly awaited T20 Mumbai League 2025, with India stars Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Ajinkya Rahane leading the roster.
Returning after a six-year hiatus, the third edition of the T20 Mumbai League is scheduled to be held at the iconic Wankhede Stadium from May 26 to June 8. The league, widely regarded as one of India's premier domestic franchise-based T20 competitions, is set for a grand revival featuring some of the finest cricketing talent from Mumbai.
Joining the marquee trio as icon players are Sarfaraz Khan, Shardul Thakur, Prithvi Shaw, Shivam Dube, and Tushar Deshpande. Notably, all eight players have donned the Indian jersey, showcasing the remarkable strength and depth of Mumbai's cricketing legacy.
Ajinkya Naik, President of MCA, expressed pride and excitement about the return of the league and its high-profile player line-up. "We are delighted to unveil eight icon players who have brought immense pride to Mumbai with their performances on both the domestic and international stage. They represent the spirit, legacy and excellence of Mumbai cricket. Their presence will not only inspire and mentor emerging talent but also serve as a valuable learning opportunity for them as we remain committed to discovering and promoting the next generation of India's cricketing stars. Having these players in the league will also raise its stature and provide fans with a thrilling and memorable experience," he stated.

As per the tournament format, each franchise will be permitted to select one icon player for their squad, ensuring a blend of experience and star power. The MCA is expected to announce the auction date shortly.
Historically, the T20 Mumbai League has served as a springboard for young cricketers to make their mark alongside established players. The 2025 edition has already generated immense enthusiasm, with more than 2,800 players registering for the tournament.
This season will feature eight franchises: North Mumbai Panthers, ARCS Andheri, Triumph Knights Mumbai North East, Namo Bandra Blasters, Eagle Thane Strikers, and Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs. The league will also welcome two new teams, SoBo Mumbai Falcons and Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals.
