BCCI contract list for 2025: Iyer, Ishan secure spots in Grade B and C, respectively

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the list of contracted players on Monday. Team India skipper Rohit Sharma and stalwart Virat Kohli retained their spots in the Grade A+ category.

In the IPL 2025, Kohli is enjoying his rich vein in form and Rohit has marked his comeback after playing an unbeaten knock of 76 runs against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

The batting duo is joined by bowling stars Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja. These four players will receive an annual fee of Rs. 7 crore.

Team India's Champions Trophy 2025 star performer, Shreyas Iyer, has also made it to the contracted players' list. Iyer has been added to the Grade B list.

Iyer, alongside Ishan Kishan, was dropped from the BCCI contract last year for not featuring in domestic cricket for the Indian Premier League (IPL). For the contract of 2024-25, Kishan is also included in the category C players' list, who get the annual fee of Rs 1 crore. Currently, Iyer (Punjab Kings) is having a decent run in the ongoing IPL 2025, whereas Kishan is experiencing a lean patch after smashing a century in the first match for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Rishabh Pant, who was demoted to group B during the 2023-24 season as he didn't due to his recovery from a life-threatening accident, is back in the A category in place of the retired Ravichandran Ashwin. Category A comes with a retainership of Rs five crore annually.

Category C features the maximum number of players, 19 in all, with four new entrants in Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Taking to X:
