During a discussion at the Watson Institute, the Congress leader referred to Lord Ram as a "mythological figure", a comment that has not gone down well with many in India. The BJP immediately labelled him "anti-Ram" and "anti-Hindu", questioning his understanding of India`s religious roots. More notably, saints and seers from Ayodhya have publicly condemned the statement, calling it an insult to millions of devotees.
