On 13 May 2025, a joint operation by the Indian Army and police led to the elimination of three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists in the dense Shukroo forest area of Keller, in South Kashmir’s Shopian district. Acting on specific intelligence from a Rashtriya Rifles unit regarding terrorist presence in the Shoekal Keller region, security forces launched a cordon and search operation. As troops began combing the area, the terrorists opened heavy fire, leading to a fierce gunfight. In the ensuing exchange, all three terrorists were neutralised. The identities of the deceased are currently being verified.
