Pakistan continues to carry out unprovoked firing across the Line of Control. On the night of May 5th to 6th, Pakistani troops opened small-arms fire from multiple forward posts targeting areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir. In response, the Indian Army delivered a calibrated and proportionate reply, reinforcing its message of strength and resolve. This marks the twelfth consecutive day of India`s retaliation since the initial provocation on April 25th. As tensions escalate, India’s top military leadership is actively engaged. Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, following Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi’s briefing a day earlier. On April 30th, India shut its airspace to all Pakistani aircraft after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22nd, which left 26 civilians dead. Since then, Indian forces have intensified counter-terror operations across Kashmir, with the government granting full operational freedom to the armed forces to act decisively against any threats.
