The showroom was shut at the time, which prevented any injuries. Extensive damage was caused to stock including garments, wiring, cameras, wooden partitions and hangers.
Firefighters used multiple hose lines and broke through a back entrance to control the flames. More than five fire tenders were deployed to the site to tackle the blaze.
Nineteen people trapped on the terrace due to heavy smoke were safely rescued. Two dogs and one cat were also saved from the premises by emergency teams.
The fire was brought under control after coordinated efforts by the fire brigade. Maharashtra minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha visited the site shortly after the incident.

Lodha expressed concern for residents, especially senior citizens, navigating smoke and water-filled stairwells. Authorities have been instructed to investigate the cause of the fire and take corrective action.
