The NEET UG 2025 exam is being held today, 4 May, across India. The examination will commence at 2 pm and conclude at 5 pm.
Candidates must report to their exam centres between 11 am and 1.30 pm. Entry is not permitted after the last reporting time.
Students were seen queued up outside KC College, Churchgate, Mumbai. Strict dress code guidelines are in place to ensure fair conduct.
Items such as earrings, bangles, necklaces, anklets, nose rings, hair clips, and high-heeled footwear are prohibited. Only slippers or sandals with low heels are permitted; shoes are not allowed.
Heavy clothing or long sleeves must be avoided. Students wearing cultural or religious attire must report two hours early for detailed security checks.
If prohibited items are found concealed, entry to the exam may be denied. Students must carry their NEET admission letter along with a valid photo ID.
Acceptable ID proofs include Aadhar card, PAN card, voter ID, or a college-issued ID. Two passport-sized photographs and one postcard-sized photo must also be submitted.
Biometric attendance is mandatory for all examinees. The NEET question paper consists of 180 compulsory questions.
Physics and Chemistry sections will have 45 questions each. Biology, the largest section, includes 90 questions.
Previously, questions were split into Section A (compulsory) and Section B (optional), but all are now mandatory. NEET UG 2025 is conducted in over 550 cities across India.
More than 5,000 exam centres have been established for this year’s test. Approximately 23 lakh students have registered for the exam. The paper is available in 13 Indian languages including Hindi, English, Tamil, Marathi, and Bengali.

Security has been tightened due to previous paper leak incidents, notably in Rajasthan in 2024. NTA has implemented CCTV surveillance, signal jammers, GPS tracking for question paper transport, and AI-based monitoring. A special NTA reporting platform has been launched for candidates to flag suspicious claims or activities related to NEET.
