This is the first Budget Session of the newly formed government. The session will last for four weeks and end on March 26.

On the eve of the Maharashtra Budget Session 2025 on Sunday, Fadnavis along with his deputies, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, held a press conference. The CM dismissed speculation of a 'cold war' with Shinde, and mocked Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) lawmaker Sanjay Raut, quipping he wants to compete with the legendary screenwriting duo Salim-Javed

The state government is committed to presenting a well-balanced budget during the upcoming legislative session, ensuring that financial discipline does not impact capital expenditure, CM Fadnavis said during the press conference. He also assured that no flagship scheme would be discontinued

Two significant discussions will take place during the session. On March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, there will be a special discussion marking the 300th birth anniversary of Maratha Queen Ahilyabai Holkar. Additionally, a two-day discussion will be held on the Constitution as part of the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations

The session will also see debates on five bills, with an emphasis on positive and detailed discussions on all subjects, including the participation of new legislators

The Mahayuti comprises the BJP, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party
