A 34-year-old pillion rider was crushed under a speeding dumper on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident took place on Tuesday, at around 3.50 pm when the deceased, Mahek Mota, was riding pillion with his friend Nirav Soni.
The deceased, a resident of Ghatkopar, visited Siddhivinayak Temple with his friends. While returning, a dumper dashed their Scooty near Dadar's Tilak bridge and Mota was crushed under its rear wheels.
Matunga police have booked the dumper driver and are searching for his whereabouts.

"The victim was rushed to Sion hospital, however, he was declared dead on arrival. We have the registration number of the dumper and search for him is on," Deepak Chavhan, senior inspector, Matunga police station, said.
