A portion of a ground-plus-three floor residential building collapsed in Ghatkopar area of Mumbai on Sunday morning.
According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), some residents were stranded in the building and the rescue operation was underway.
A portion of the building located in Chittaranjan Nagar of Rajawadi Colony in suburban Ghatkopar collapsed at 9.33 am, said the civic body. BMC's Mumbai Fire Brigade declared the accident Level-I.
According to BMC, two persons were rescued from the third floor, while two persons were still trapped on the building's first floor and efforts were on to bring them out.

Meanwhile, no injuries have been reported so far.
"Some portion of ground plus upper three floored building collapsed. Some residents were stranded in the building. Rescue Operation is in progress," the BMC said in a statement.
After the incident, fire brigade, police and civic personnel rushed to the spot.
Earlier, heavy rains in several parts of Mumbai on Saturday to the death of two persons who were washed away in a drain. The heavy showers had also caused traffic snarls, tree fall incidents and short circuits, as per officials.
