A civic official on Monday said that one person was killed after a truck hit a two-wheeler in Maharashtra's Thane city, reported news agency PTI.
The Thane accident occurred near Kapurbawdi Bridge around 10 pm on Sunday, the official said.
The truck lost control and rammed into a scooter, throwing off the rider, who died on the spot, said Yasin Tadvi, the chief of the civic disaster management cell, reported PTI.
While sharing an update on the Thane accident, he said personnel from the police, city traffic police, and an emergency ambulance were dispatched to the location, and the man's body was sent for post-mortem.

A police official said efforts were underway to trace the truck driver.
In another incident, the Pune police have registered a case after an unidentified car rammed into parked two-wheelers in the Kothrud area of the city, police said on Sunday, reported PTI.
CCTV footage of the incident that occurred at Nimbalkar Chowk on Saturday has surfaced on social media.
The footage shows a car ramming into two-wheelers, and three to four vehicles were damaged.
"A car rammed into the parked two-wheelers around 8.45 pm and left the scene. Fortunately, no one sustained injuries in the accident. A case has been registered against the unidentified driver, and a search is on to nab him," an official from Alankar police station said, reported PTI.
He said a case has been registered under section 281 (rash driving) and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicle Act.
Meanwhile, thirteen people, all women and children, died and 11 were injured in a collision between a trailer truck and a truck in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, police said, reported PTI.
Four children and nine women died in the road accident that happened late Sunday night near Saragaon on Raipur-Balodabazar road in Raipur district.
Police officials said a family from Chataud village had gone to Bansari village to attend a family function. While returning, the truck they were travelling in collided with a trailer near Saragaon under the Kharora police station area, reported PTI.
After getting information about the accident, a police team was sent to the spot and the injured were taken to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital, Raipur, reported PTI.
Raipur district collector Gaurav Singh said district administration officials also reached the spot. Thirteen people died and 11 people were injured in the accident, he said.
Police registered a case and the matter is being investigated, the collector said.
