Rahul Vaidya on calling Virat Kohli ‘joker’: ‘I didn’t say anything wrong’

Singer Rahul Vaidya has been making headlines after he called out Virat Kohli over his 'algorithm' clarification post like a picture of Avneet Kaur. Now, as Rahul was snapped at Mumbai airport last night, he had a fun chat with paparazzi where he briefly discussed the recent controversy and talked about calling him a 'joker.'

As Rahul was snapped at Mumbai airport, a paparazzo questioned him about why he called Virat 'pagal,' and Rahul was quick to clarify that he called him a 'joker.' When further asked why he said that, Rahul shared, "If I show you the screenshots, the kind of abuses that were directed at me, my family, and my wife..." When the paparazzo again emphasized on why, Rahul clarified, "I didn't say anything wrong to him. I'm the biggest fan of cricket. Kahi na kahi unhone block kyun kiya uska jawab toh mile na mujhe (He should speak up about why he blocked me)?"

After this, a paparazzo teased Rahul, saying, "Unke paas itna time kahan hoga sir aapko block karne ka (Where will he have the time to block you)?" Taken aback by the remark, Rahul replied, "To bas theek hai bas, humare paas toh bahut hai (Ok fine then, I've a lot of time)."

Earlier in a Zoom call, Rahul also claimed that though he is a fan of Virat the cricketer, he "doesn't endorse him as a human being" and shared, "Virat Kohli has blocked me for some reason. I am not even aware of the reason. I used to be his fan. I am still a fan of the cricketer, but I don't endorse him as a human being."

After Virat's clarification came out, singer and Bigg Boss 16 fame Rahul K Vaidya blasted Kohli for what he called a baseless explanation. In a video, Rahul said, "Main kehna chahta hoon ki aaj ke baad aisa ho sakta hai ki algorithm bohot saare photos like kar de jo maine nahi kare. So, jo bhi ladki ho (I want to say that going forward, the algorithm might like many photos which I didn't like. So, the girls), please don't do PR around it because it is not my mistake. It is Instagram's mistake, okay?"
