Aston Martin F1’s team principal and CEO Andy Cowell dismissed speculation linking Red Bull’s reigning world champion Max Verstappen with a potential move to the Silverstone-based team.

Verstappen’s relationship with Red Bull has become a major talking point, following comments from Red Bull’s motorsport adviser, Helmut Marko, who admitted he had “great concern” over Dutch driver’s future with the team.

Having signed Red Bull’s design guru Adrian Newey, Aston Martin has been mooted as a possible destination for Verstappen. However, Cowell rubbished such suggestions.

“We’re fortunate that we’ve got two incredibly experienced drivers [Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll] signed for the next two years, and that means I can just focus on the art of making a fast race car,” said Cowell.
