In a dramatic turn of events on May 7, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor,’ a large-scale retaliatory strike targeting terror infrastructure. The operation drew swift global reactions, with the United States urging a swift de-escalation and Japan expressing concern over the unfolding crisis. Turkey, meanwhile, accused India of risking an "all-out war" but called on both India and Pakistan to act with restraint and "common sense" amid the growing military confrontation. In the aftermath, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to express gratitude for Ankara’s support. Taking to platform X (formerly Twitter), Sharif thanked the Turkish leadership for their “solidarity and prayers,” describing Turkey as a steadfast ally. He also briefed Erdoğan on Pakistan’s military response and reiterated Islamabad’s resolve to defend its sovereignty.
