Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the security situation in Manipur on March 1, following the resignation of CM N Biren Singh on February 9 due to rising violence and instability. He ordered that public movement on all routes in Manipur must be restored by March 8, 2025. The Ministry of Home Affairs instructed strict action against those disrupting normalcy. Amit Shah also directed the early completion of fencing at designated entry points along Manipur’s international border. To combat drug issues, he emphasized dismantling the entire drug trade network. The government aims to restore peace, improve security, and make Manipur drug-free by taking firm measures against illegal activities and ensuring the smooth movement of people.
