A major fire broke out early this morning at the Enforcement Directorate office in Ballard Estate, South Mumbai. The incident happened around 2:30 am. According to civic officials, fire engines rushed to the spot as soon as the alert was received. The fire was first marked as Level-II at 3:30 am and later upgraded to Level-III by 4:17 am, indicating a serious emergency. Thankfully, there are no reports of any injuries. Officials said the fire was mainly limited to the fourth floor of the five-storey building. Firefighters worked quickly to control the flames and stop the fire from spreading further. The Mumbai Fire Department sent a large team for the operation. This included eight fire engines, six jumbo tankers, an aerial water tower, a breathing apparatus van, a rescue van, a quick response vehicle, and a 108 ambulance. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
